High-resolution optical rotary encoder for precise position determination
The PP series is a high-resolution optical rotary encoder with a 56.39 mm housing and a small housing depth of just 16.51 mm. Thanks to its high resolution of up to 10,000 ppr, it is ideal for applications that require precise position detection and fine motion control.
The encoder is available in two bearing options:
- Plain bearing version with selectable torque, suitable for applications with manual actuation or defined positioning movements.
- Ball bearing version with very low actuating torque, ideal for dynamic applications
Signals are transmitted via TTL or line driver outputs, which offer different advantages depending on the application:
- TTL enables easy integration into control systems with short cable runs
- Line Driver (differential) offers interference-free signal transmission over longer cable runs
The maximum speed is up to 10,000 rpm, whereby the maximum usable number of pulses is limited by the cut-off frequency of 300 kHz.
Options:
- Pulse numbers: 1000, 2048, 4000, 4096, 5000, 7200, 8000, 8192, 10,000 rpm
- Shaft diameter: 6 mm or 6.35 mm
- Bearing: plain bearing (with selectable torque) or ball bearing
- Output electronics: TTL or line driver (differential)
