Product description: Optical incremental encoder OP
Rotary encoder with low installation depth, high resolution and mounting options
The OP series offers precise optical detection of rotary movements with a resolution of up to 10,000 pulses per revolution. The shallow housing depth of just 12.6 mm enables use in applications with limited installation space.
The incremental encoder is available in two versions: with plain bearing or ball bearing. The plain bearing version is suitable for speeds up to 100 rpm and is preferably used for manual setpoint specifications. The torque can be selected in two stages to optimise the encoder for the application. The ball bearing version is designed for higher speeds up to 10,000 rpm and has a low actuating torque due to its design.
Signals are transmitted via TTL-compatible output signals that can be processed directly by control systems. Two channels (A and B) enable the direction of rotation to be recognised, while the optional reference pulse (Z) can be used for zero point calibration, position determination and signal verification.
Thanks to the radial connection design, the OP rotary encoder can be easily integrated with Molex connectors or solder pins. With a temperature range of -25 to +100 °C, it is also suitable for demanding operating conditions.
