Product description: Hall-effect absolute encoder MAB12A
Versatile, robust and compact absolute rotary encoder
The MAB12A is a Hall-effect absolute encoder with a 360° measuring range that is characterised by its extremely compact design and high precision. With a resolution of up to 12 bits, it offers precise angle measurement. The choice between plain bearings (with different torques) or ball bearings enables optimum adaptation to different operating conditions.
Versions with torsional lock offer a low torque (< 0.3 Ncm) or a medium torque (< 0.35 ±0.2 Ncm) and are intended for applications with manual operation.
The version without rotary lock has a very low torque (< 0.035 Ncm) and is designed for applications without manual operation.
Thanks to the integrated MOLEX connector, the signal cable can be easily disconnected from the evaluation unit, which simplifies installation and maintenance. The encoder is designed for operation with 5 VDC and supplies either an analogue output signal (0...5 V) or a PWM signal.
PWM offers the advantage of interference-resistant signal transmission over longer distances and can be integrated directly into digital control systems, making it ideal for applications with microcontrollers or PLCs.
With its brass-coloured housing and a robust shaft made of stainless steel or brass, the MAB12A is ideally suited for industrial use. It impresses with a long lifetime and an operating temperature range of -40 °C to +125 °C.
