The PW30 single-axis rocker joystick from MEGATRON is ideal for integration into portable devices or control panels. Its high-quality mechanics demonstrate their strengths both in harsh industrial applications and for sensitive control tasks in medical technology. The large selection of knobs, spring returns and sensors allows the thumb joystick to be optimally adapted to the application.
Thumb joysticks are suitable for handheld, panel and hand joystick applications. The proportional rockers of the PW30 series from MEGATRON meet the high quality and reliability requirements for long-term use in industrial environments. With the look of a rocker switch and the sensor technology of an industrial joystick, the PW30 series combines the advantages of a joystick with those of a toggle switch: It has a flat design and small footprint and provides a proportional signal (non-switching, non-latching).
Users can choose from a range of rocker shapes, including soft-touch options, potentiometric or Hall-effect sensors, and spring return to centre or end position.
With the potentiometer version, a centre tap or other resistance values (standard 10 kOhm) can be realized on customer request. This version is particularly suitable for battery operation as the power consumption is very low. While the potentiometric version of the thumb joystick has a life span of 2 million operations, the Hall-effect version achieves a life span of 5 million operations. Its electronics also meet the requirements of IP65 protection, making it suitable for use in harsh environments. MEGATRON also supplies the Hall effect version with double or crossed outputs or as a fully redundant version (separate power supply for 2 Hall sensors).
