The EVT series of inductive displacement transducers from MEGATRON measure contactlessly and precisely. With a diameter of only 9.5 mm, the sensors are suitable for a wide range of applications in measurement and test setups.
The EVT is a rugged displacement transducer for measuring ranges from 1.3 mm to 25 mm. As standard, the sensor can be used in ambient temperatures from -20 °C to +125 °C - on request, operating temperatures up to 200 °C and pressure-tight versions up to 3.5 MPa (35 bar) can be realized. The wide range of EVT displacement sensors allows optimum adaptation to the application. Precise measurement, e.g. of material heights in assembly lines, is ensured by the good linearity of up to 0.1%.
The coupling of the sensors to the application is variable as they are available with both guided and loose pushrods. When fitted with an internal return spring, the EVT can be used as a high accuracy probe. It is the first choice when it comes to precisely determining assembly positions, measuring deformation or inspecting workpieces in automation and robotics.
EVT displacement transducers operate on the induction principle. The coils are arranged in the sensor housing in such a way that an electrical output signal is generated analogue to the displacement when the push rod is immersed. As the push rod is mechanically separated from the coils, there is no wear on the sensor and high IP classes are possible.
The IMA2 series of LVDT signal amplifiers is available for easy commissioning of the transducers. The amplifier supplies the AC voltage required to operate the sensor and converts the relatively small differential voltage signal into a linear analogue output signal (e.g. 0...10 V, 4...20 mA).
